Translation Methodology

How we process translation assignments

At Tamilist, we follow a well structured process to ensure high quality output. We give below our process methodology we follow on receiving the assignment.

 

Step 1 – Requirement Analysis and Domain Separation

We closely understand the project and depending on the nature of the assignment, the project will be given to the translator who is expert in that respective domain. For example, if the translation requirement is for a subject related to finance, then we will allocate this project to the translator who is an expert in ‘banking and finance’ domain. By giving it to the right translator, we ensure highest quality output.

 

Step 2 - Project Allocation.

When we are confirmed with the domain and decided to handover the project to the most suitable translator for the given assignment, we will allocate the project to him formally highlighting the client requirement, quality standards we expect and time lines.

 

Step 3 – Project guidelines

Detailed project guidelines will be sent to the translator. Every requirement expected by the client will be documented and sent to the translator. Any revisions made to the document and the time spent by the translator will be tracked periodically. We will update the project status to the client twice daily. Every project will be given a unique ID code and it serves as a reference for both client and translator.

 

Step 4 – Translation process

Once when the translator is clear about the project requirements and deadline, he works on the document. We work with highly professional translator with specific domain expertise and allocate the work in their areas of specialization to ensure high quality output. We use software to check errors and ensure accuracy, whereas 100% of the translation is done by our expert translators who use right words for any given context.

 

Step 5 – Verification and quality check

The translated text sent by the translator will be reviewed by our high quality editing team and the document will be closely read to spot spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors, if any. On thorough proof reading and quality check, the document will be marked as ‘ready to submit’ to the client.

 

Step 6 – Delivery

On thorough verification and certified to be ready to submit, we deliver the translated document to our client. Our clients normally accept the document at the first stage. If required, we can incorporate any changes required by the client. Once when the client approves the document, it is signed off and invoice will be raised for that project.
